Cal. .58. NSN. Standard configuration Richmond Armory rifle, 40" barrel, "VP" & eagle head proof are Richmond/Harper's Ferry with broken "P", correct style rear leaf sight. Richmond style brass butt plate, brass nose cap, good Harper's Ferry threaded swell ramrod, lock is dated "1862" at tail & "C.S. / RICHMOND, VA" forward of hammer. CONDITION: very good overall, strong mechanics, good rifled bore, stock sound with ghost of federal cartouche, bolster cleanout screw is restored. PROVENANCE: Bob Allispones estate collection.
